The Peak District is the UK’s first national park, created in 1951 so this year is the 75th anniversary, on the 17th April, but the celebrations go on all year so there has never been a better time to visit.

A whole host of ranger guided Anniversary Walks has been arranged throughout the year including in April:

Sat 4th April – The Summit of Shutlingsloe, Cheshire’s Matterhorn (6 miles)

Sun 5th April – An “Easter Mermaid” walk on the western flanks of Kinder Scout (6 miles)

Wed 8th April – Laddow Rocks and the High Moors (6 miles)

Sat 11th April – Mindfulness and Connecting with Nature Walk through Bolehill Quarries & Padley Gorge (5 miles)

Sat 18th April – The Exam Round (6 miles)

Sat 25th April – Bronze Age Life and Death on Bamford Moor (6 miles)

Sun 26th April – Lovely Lathkill Dale (9.5 miles)
