We are very lucky here at The Old Station House to be located in the village of Rowsley, which forms a perfect triangle with Chatsworth House to the north and Bakewell to the West with the border of the Peak District National Park running straight through the middle of our village, following the river Derwent. Rowsley is located where the Derwent and the Wye meet and the walking around here is incredible with footpaths heading north, south, east and west from the village. The Derwent Valley Heritage Way and White Peak Loop Cycle Trails will take you to Matlock Bath or Chatsworth House, depending on which direction you decide to walk or ride. Haddon Hall is just two miles along the Wye valley with some incredible views if you follow the footpath and cycle trail at the top of Church Lane. Then, cyclists can pick up the Monsal Trail and cycle off-road to Buxton whilst the walkers can take the gentle downwards trail through the fields to Haddon Hall or Bakewell, just one mile further away. Another great walk from the house will take you to the 4,500 year old Nine Ladies Stone Circle on Stanton Moor on other other side of the Wye valley.
